Tyneside Scottish Association Branch
Royal Artillery Association
The Tyneside Scottish Association Branch meets every 3rd Tuesday of the Month in the Kingston Park Army Reserve Centre.
As well as the monthly meetings that provide the basis for our on going comradeship, we hold an annual dinner, a number of social gathering during the year, and acts of remembrance.
The Branch participates in the annual Royal Artillery Assembly in May each year.
Members of the Branch have conducted visits to the battlefields of the Somme, Ypres and Normandy.

Centenary of the Tyneside Scottish
The Branch is working in conjunction with Northumbria Army Cadet Force to deliver a project that follows the path of the Tyneside Scottish during the First World War.
The origins of the TS are in Kitchener's Call to Arms and the formation of the "New Army". Like many of those who answered this call, the Tyneside Scottish sustained heavy casualties on 1st July 1916.
Project is running over 3 years from 2014 to 2016 through the 3 phases:
Call to Arms - Formation of the Tyneside Scottish and the raising the TS Brigade
Citizen to Soldier - the transition from citizen through training to soldier and life in the trenches
Somme - Commemorating 1st July 1916 and remembering the aftermath of the Battle.
